Job Purpose
Carnehill Joinery Limited is hiring Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Pre-Hung Door Set Production Department, ensuring the efficient manufacture of high-quality door sets in line with customer specifications, production schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
The successful candidate will lead production teams, optimize manufacturing processes, manage resources effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilites
Production Management
- Monitors production and production costs and undertakes or arranges for the preparation of reports and records.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all production activities within the manufacturing department.
- Ensure production targets, delivery schedules, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Monitor workflow and production capacity to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer and project requirements.
- Manage daily production meetings and communicate priorities to supervisors and operators.
Quality Control
- Ensure all door sets are manufactured in accordance with specifications, fire-rating requirements, building regulations, and customer expectations.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures.
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase output.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs and provide regular performance reports.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices throughout the department.
- Lead safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained in safe and efficient working condition.
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Manager role.
- Strong experience within manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Proven ability to manage production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management systems.
- Working with new software packages within CHJ

€36,605 – €49,000 per annum
