Role Summary

A Mechanical Site Maintenance Fitter is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical equipment, plant machinery, and related systems on a site are operating reliably, safely, and efficiently. The role involves both planned/preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, with a focus on minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance: schedule and carry out routine inspections, lubrication, servicing, checking alignment, replacing worn parts, maintaining pumps, gearboxes, valves, pipework etc.
  • Execute reactive (breakdown) maintenance: diagnose failures/faults, carry out emergency repairs, identify root causes to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Support or lead installation/commissioning of new mechanical equipment or upgrades.
  • Carry out fabrication or minor mechanical works: machining, welding, bracketing and pipework as required.

Qualifications 

  • Trade qualification, especially HVAC, fitter, turner or plumber or similar 
  • 5+ Years Experience as a Maintenance technician in an industrial environment. Eg Process Technician, Mechanical Technician, Mechanic, Maintenance Technician 
  • Problem solver & having an ability to work on your own initiative is extremely important 
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills in English 
  • Welding Capability & / or Certs MMA, Mig, Tig 
  • Experience in an ISO/BRC Environment desirable 
  • Full clean driving license 
  • Safe pass – Advantage – (We can Provide) 
  • Manual handling – Advantage – (We can Provide) 
  • Abrasive wheels – Advantage – (We can Provide) 
  • Working at heights – Advantage – (We can Provide)

  • Problem solving ability and ability to work on own initiative. 
  • Ability to upgrade skills on an on-going basis. 
  • High level of safe working practices and awareness. 

Job Type: Full-time and In-person
